Sahar Milani serves as Director of Player Operations at International Soccer Academy (ISA), where she supports the organization’s mission of providing authentic international development pathways for talented soccer players. In her role, she works closely with players and families to help coordinate the operational and communication aspects of ISA’s international training programs while ensuring a positive and supportive player experience.
With more than two decades of experience across sports marketing, communications, and nonprofit leadership, Milani has built a career focused on growing the game and creating meaningful opportunities through soccer.
Experience in the Soccer Industry
Milani has worked with several prominent organizations in the soccer world, contributing to marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives that support player development and the growth of the sport.
Her professional experience includes roles with the LA Galaxy, the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), and SoccerToday, where she supported marketing, communications, and partnership initiatives that connected soccer organizations with players, families, and fans.
Through these roles she developed a strong understanding of the American youth soccer landscape and the importance of creating programs that support both athletes and the communities that surround them.
Leadership in Sports Marketing and Communications
Milani is also the founder of Milani Communications, a marketing and communications consultancy that has supported sports organizations, nonprofit groups, and mission-driven brands.
Her work has included strategic communications, brand development, and partnership initiatives designed to strengthen organizational visibility and community engagement. She has also held marketing leadership roles with organizations such as Michelson Found Animals Foundation and March of Dimes, where she helped develop campaigns and partnerships supporting important nonprofit missions.
Her experience across sports, nonprofit organizations, and media provides a valuable perspective that supports ISA’s international programs and communication strategy.
Supporting Player Development at International Soccer Academy
At International Soccer Academy, Milani helps ensure that players and families receive clear communication and operational support throughout their training experiences in Europe.
Her role contributes to the collaborative environment that allows players to focus on their development both on and off the field while participating in professional club environments abroad.
Education and Professional Background
Milani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Sports Management from California State University, Long Beach. She has also earned a certificate in nonprofit and organizational management from UCLA.
Her academic background in communications and sports management supports her work across the soccer, nonprofit, and sports marketing industries.
A Passion for Youth Soccer
A lifelong supporter of the game, Milani is passionate about youth development and the global soccer community.
Based in Houston, she remains actively involved at the grassroots level and currently coaches her son’s U6 soccer team, sharing her love of the game with the next generation of players.
