Holger Andreas Gehrke, born 22 August 1960 in East Berlin, brings a storied legacy as both a professional goalkeeper and a mentor par excellence.
Playing Career & Bundesliga Experience
- Gehrke made 86 Bundesliga appearances, logging over 7,600 minutes at the highest level.
- He represented SpVgg Blau-Weiß 1890 Berlin, FC Schalke 04, and MSV Duisburg during his professional career.
- Beyond the Bundesliga, he also played extensively in the 2. Bundesliga, adding further depth to his experience in German football.
Coaching Career & Mentorship
When he hung up his gloves, Gehrke transitioned seamlessly into coaching. His résumé includes roles at:
- FC Schalke 04 (goalkeeper coach)
- 1. FC Köln (First team manager / head coach and goalkeeper coach)
- First team assistant coach at Hertha 2003/2004
- International coaching roles with Fenerbahçe, the Hungarian national team, and additional elite European clubs.
Through Holger’s reputation and network, he has personally arranged for trials and secured contract opportunities for several of our International Soccer Academy players. His return to ISA strengthens our commitment to creating real, lasting pathways for ambitious and highly talented players.
