Patrick Weiser
Head of Sport — Europe & Head Coach, Hertha BSC Integrated Academy
17 Year Career – 270 Caps – 27,975 Minutes
Hailing from the legendary FC Köln, a former professional soccer player with a large fan base, Patrick Weiser inspires and develops the talents of International Soccer Academy’s youth soccer players as Head Coach of the FC Schalke 04 Integrated Academy.
With a prestigious career as a professional player and as a UEFA Pro licensed coach, Patrick has excelled both on the field and in the coaching arena.
A right-back as well as a midfielder, Patrick Weiser played 270 matches in the Bundesliga, 7 in the UEFA Cup, 16 in DFB-Pokal games, and 39 in Ligue 1. Suiting up for VfL Wolfsburg, 1.FC Köln, and Stade Rennes, Patrick’s career began as a youth player at FC Köln where is also played matches in the Oberliga and Regionalliga Nord.
As a coach, he has a proven record of guiding players from the academy to the pro levels.
Before coaching our FC Schalke 04 Integrated U18s last season and arranging 15 American youth soccer players to sign contracts in Europe, Patrick was the Head Coach of the Bayer Leverkusen U19 team. As a coach, he has a proven record of guiding players from academy to pro levels and is poised to shape our players on and off the pitch.
Soccer runs in Patrick’s family — his son is Mitchell Weiser, a professional soccer player who has played for Bundesliga’s Hertha Berlin, Bayern Munich and is currently with Werder Bremen.
Michael Scavuzzo
Assistant Coach (UEFA B License) & Team Director, Hertha BSC Integrated Academy
2 Year Career – 27 Caps – 1937 Minutes
Michael Scavuzzo, an American Pro-Am footballer turned UEFA B licensed coach, began his career with the International Soccer Academy in 2020 after his college suspended activities due to COVID-19. He has traveled the player pathway and brings a clear and unique understanding of the International Soccer Academy’s values and goals.
Joining the Gap Year team at RCD Mallorca, and was awarded MVP for his skill. Having impressed his coaches, Holger Gehrke and Eddie Loewen, they arranged several trials and earned a contract with Germany’s Greifswalder FC.
In 2023, he joined the Hertha BSC Integrated Academy staff. A former youth player for San Diego Surf SC, Albion SC, and Barca Academy, he was recruited by MLS’ Sporting Kansas City Academy at age 16 after shining in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase.
Francis Kioyo
Performance Coach (UEFA B License) Hertha BSC Integrated Academy
13 Year Career – 65 Caps in the Bundesliga
Francis Kioyo is a German footballer who played as a center forward for 65 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring 4 goals, and 155 matches in the 2nd Bundesliga, scoring 30 goals. Francis Kioyo also played at 1.FC Köln, FC Augsburg, 1860 Munich, and Energie Cottbus among other prestigious clubs. With 13,808 minutes combined in the first and second division, Francis also made three appearances for Cameroon where he was born.
Kioyo also celebrated victories on the field with his former Energie Cottbus teammate Gregg Berhalter, the former head coach of the United States Men’s National soccer team. Francis has played a total of 16,699 minutes in his pro career. Francis hung up his professional cleats in 2018, and began turning his expertise to developing younger players who could walk in his footsteps.
Ioannis Grigorakis
Team Physiotherapist, Hertha BSC
Ioannis Grigorakis is a board-certified Physical Therapist who also specializes in nerve manipulation, soft tissue manipulation, and joint manipulation.
After completing his education, Ioannis worked alongside a therapist who worked for Olympiakos which gave him the experience of working with countless pro soccer players and other high-level athletes in Greece.
Grigorakis assists the team as the secondary Team Director as needed to ensure the players are always well provided for. He also lives at the BFV residence in Wannsee, just outside of the center of Berlin, Germany.
Jens Härtel
Performance Coach (UEFA PRO License) Hertha BSC Integrated Academy
14 Year Career – 2nd Bundesliga 91 Caps – 8,554 Minutes
Jens Härtel, a veteran coach and former professional player, brings a wealth of experience and tactical knowledge to the development of International Soccer Academy’s youth soccer players. With a distinguished playing career that includes 91 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga, Jens Härtel’s journey took him through notable clubs such as 1. FC Union Berlin and Babelsberg 03, where he established himself as a commanding presence in defense and midfield.
Jens transitioned to coaching with the same passion he displayed on the pitch, leading teams like RB Leipzig U19, Hansa Rostock and 1. FC Magdeburg to success. Härtel even won the 3rd Bundesliga in 2017/18, helping FC Magdeburg get promoted to the 2nd Division. Most recently he was the Head Coach of 2nd Bundesliga Club, Eintracht Braunschweig.
Klaus Augenthaler
Bayern Global Academy, Head Coach
15 Year Career — 559 Caps — 49,063 Minutes
Klaus Augenthaler, a legendary figure in German soccer, brings an impressive wealth of experience to the International Soccer Academy as Head Coach of the FC Bayern Global Academy. Augenthaler enjoyed a 15-year career at FC Bayern Munich, where he became one of the Bundesliga’s most respected defenders and team captains.
As a player, Augenthaler’s career is distinguished by seven Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokal Cups, and the crowning achievement of winning the 1990 FIFA World Cup with the German national team. His accomplishments established him not only as a German soccer icon but also as a fierce competitor whose legacy endures.
Transitioning from German pro soccer player to soccer coach, Augenthaler continued his winning ways. Augenthaler holds a UEFA Pro License and has led various clubs in Germany’s top divisions, including Bayer Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg, and 1. FC Nürnberg. Under his leadership at Nürnberg, he achieved promotion to the Bundesliga, and his tactical acumen earned him the Bundesliga’s Coach of the Year award. Known for fostering young talent, Augenthaler has guided numerous players from the academy to professional levels, creating a lasting impact on German soccer development.
In his current role coaching elite youth soccer players identified by International Soccer Academy, Augenthaler is dedicated to shaping the next generation of players with a commitment to discipline, hard work, and technical excellence, bringing the winning mentality and insight that has defined his storied career.
Pablo Sánchez
Head Coach Cádiz CF (UEFA Pro)
17 Year Career — 215 Caps — 16,798 Minutes
Born in Cádiz, Andalusia, Pablo Sánchez started playing football with local Cádiz CF, making his professional debut on December 20, 2003. He amassed Segunda División totals of 215 matches and 34 goals over seven seasons, mainly in service of Recreativo (three years).
He played top-flight football in Australia with Adelaide United, winning the A-League in 2016. Pablo has played a total of 16,798 minutes of professional football, with a career spanning 17 years in Spain and Australia.
After hanging up his boots in 2019, Pablo Sánchez worked on his coaching licenses, currently holding the prestigious UEFA Pro License. He is an excellent youth soccer coach and inspires his International Soccer Academy residential youth soccer players to improve their technical, tactical, and mental skills.
Jesus Gallo
Goalkeeping Coach & Assistant Coach (UEFA PRO License)
23 Year Career at Cádiz CF
Jesus Gallo is a seasoned Goalkeeper coach with a wealth of experience, holding a UEFA Pro license and contributing to Cádiz CF since 2011, making this his 23rd year with the club. Gallo’s commitment to continuous learning is evident as he pursues the first level of the goalkeeper coaching course, further expanding his skills and expertise in youth soccer player development. His goalkeeping coaching focuses on modern techniques of short-distance acceleration-based speed training along with a focus on lateral short-distance change of direction and other similar trainings.
In addition to his professional achievements, Gallo demonstrates a true love of the game through his ability to connect with the youth soccer players on a personal level. Known for building strong relationships that lead directly to the improved performance of these youth soccer goalkeepers, Gallo is a trusted mentor. His dedication to fostering a positive environment is a cornerstone of his approach.
Gallo’s focus on goalkeeper training has already made a noticeable impact, with his specialized sessions elevating the development and performance of the team’s goalkeepers.
Rodrigo Mohedano
Performance Coach (UEFA C License)
Rodrigo Mohedano is a young and highly dedicated physical coach with a UEFA C license and four years of experience training in Cádiz CF’s youth academy.
At just 23 years old, Rodrigo has already completed a degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, along with a Master’s Degree in Physical and Sports Performance from the prestigious University Pablo de Olavide, one of the top programs in high-performance sports in Spain.
Currently, Rodrigo serves as the Athletic Coach for Cádiz CF’s third team and plays a key role in our Cádiz CF Integrated Team working with the International Soccer Academy youth soccer players several times per week. In addition to his hands-on training with the youth soccer team, Rodrigo is continuing to advance his skills through UEFA coaching courses, further enhancing his expertise.
Rodrigo’s commitment to his craft is exceptional. His hard work and dedication are evident in every aspect of his role as a physical trainer, where he not only focuses on improving the players’ physical performance but also instills essential values and life skills. His enthusiasm and determination to reach the highest level of professional football are contagious, making him a valuable asset to the coaching staff.
Michael Agiasmatis
Team Director & Physical Therapist
Michael Agiasmatis is an accomplished Greek physical therapist with a university degree in physical therapy, with a particular interest in kinesiology and biomechanics. His deep understanding of movement and body mechanics, coupled with his advanced diagnostic skills, make him an expert in identifying and treating musculoskeletal issues, especially in elite athletes.
As a Team Director living at Sage College with the team, he excels at leadership and operational organization ensuring his players are well cared for and properly supervised.
Agiasmatis has honed his expertise at the globally respected FC Schalke 04 FAcademies, where he worked closely with top football players. Agiasmatis also gained invaluable experience at AufSchalke Medicos, Europe’s largest and top rehabilitation center adjacent to FC Schalke 04, where he successfully helped top-tier athletes return to the field after serious injuries, improving both their recovery times and performance levels.
One of the defining moments of Michael’s career was his selection to the medical staff of the Greek veteran football team, composed of the 2004 European Championship-winning squad.
Nuria Díaz
Team Physical Therapist
Nuria Díaz is the lead physiotherapist for our Cádiz CF team, with five years of experience working with top clubs like Real Madrid CF and Cádiz CF. Specializing in sports physiotherapy and injury management, Nuria plays an essential role in ensuring our players are physically prepared to meet the demands of elite football. Her advanced skills in treating and preventing sports injuries are vital in helping athletes perform at their best.
Díaz’s expertise in cutting-edge rehabilitation techniques allows our players to recover faster and return to the field stronger. Her personalized treatment plans focus not only on injury recovery but also on enhancing overall physical resilience, reducing the risk of future setbacks. By staying at the forefront of active physiotherapy and continuously updating her methods with the latest studies and innovations, Díaz ensures that our athletes receive the most effective care possible.
